Meet the Shakti Tantra Team
Shakti Tantra was formed in 2001 and offers programmes for women, men and couples and private consultations. The workshops focus on dealing with whatever obstacles keep us from our pleasure and the basis of the workshops is to provide a very safe container in which participants feel able to confront the defences and attitudes that inhibit and restrict the flow of their sexual energy, which is their life energy.
About the Shakti Team, their teachings and experience
The ethos of Shakti Tantra is to provide experiences and teachings that can help us find contentment, inner joy, delight, innocence and aliveness. When our illusions, confusions, doubts, denials and unworthiness are lifted, there lies our ecstatic nature, our essential being.
Our society does not encourage these states of love, beauty, joy & peace. We long for these qualities and out of our grief and longing we armour ourselves and get on with what we are encouraged to do, which is building our materialistic world, as though this itself was compensation for true pleasure.
Our anti ecstatic society promotes states of guilt, shame and judgement in which the split between heart and sex, the lack of honour around our sexuality, means that we become less than whole. Shakti Tantra’s purpose is to help heal the shame and guilt around our sexuality and to help us treat our bodies with love and respect. When we move to a place of seeing our sexuality as sacred, we can touch base with our ecstatic nature that is full of beauty.
The content of the workshops includes movement, active meditations, tantric structures and rituals and shamanic exercises – everything is an invitation
